Dear Mrs. Zrihen,The book that I am reading is called "Twilight," by: Stephenie Meyer. The quote that touched me a lot was, " It would be more...prudent for you not to be my friend," on page 84, because it is saying that people who are different can nowhere near, be friends. Before reading a book, I look at the genre, and then I look at the synopsis to get a sneak preview so I can tell if I would like it or not. While reading a book, write words that I don't understand in the book, and I put sticky noes in the main places of the book so that I can use them later. Last but not least, After reading a book, I look up all the words that I didn't understand, and then I do my reader's journal for Mrs.Zrihen. The genre of this book is Fantasy, because the book talks about how some of the charaters are vampires, and vampires don't exist in real life. The main characters in the book are The Cullen Family, Mr. and Mrs. Swan, Bella, and the vampire controllers. The protagonists are all The Cullen Family, Mr. and Mrs. Swan, and Bella. The antagonists are the killer vampires, and the vampire controllers because they also choose the wrong things when it could actually be the right choice. The foil is Bella and Edward's friends. The setting of this book takes place in Forks ( a small town in the Olympic Peninsula, of northwest Washington state). The exposition of this book is that Bella likes Edward and he can't be with her. The climax of this book is that Edward and Bella are secretly in love, but Bella finds out that Edward is a vampire and that is why he can do all the stuff that he does. The falling action, is when Bella found out that getting close to the vampires can lead her to death. The resolution of this book, is that the vampire controllers are giving Bella a chance to live and if she doesn't turn into a vampire soon, she will have to die. The main problem was that they all should have talked it through and make some exceptions. The author's tone in this book is very strong and vivid about how she wanted her characters to sound. The mood she was in was happy and excited but also upset at a loved ones behalf. The theme of this book was to entertain reader's about vampires and how cool and exciting they can be, at times. The author's point of view is that she wanted to teach people that no matter what or who you are, as long as you are in love... you are meant to be. The pattern of organization is compare and contrast, because they are comparing Edward's vampireness to Jacob's Wolfness. The author's purpose for writing this book was to entertain kids about how cool it is for a human being to change into a wolf and a man to become a vampire. Three response starters are, I like the way the author wrote and explained herself in this book. I noticed how the author really put focus into thinking of how to write it. I wish that their was a little less action between Edward and Jacob, but other then that it was good. I rate this book a 10 out of 10 because I liked how the author was detailed about everything and thought everything out before writing it. That is why I enjoy reading this book.
Sincerely,
Danielle Ben-David
Dear Danielle Ben-David,
ReplyDeleteI really liked you Journal and I have a few questions to ask about it:
Did someone recommend this book to you ?
Who do you recommend this book to ?
Did you spot any figurative language ?
Overall, I loved your reader's Journal. You wrote it with a lot of description. I even felt like I was standing here with the characters even though It is only a journal. From your journal, I am going to read this the next time Mrs. Zrihen assigns us fantasy. I really enjoyed this and I hope to read your other journals. Keep up the good work !
Love,
Jessic Bendayan
